The new Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (together “MiFID II”) will be effective as of January 3, 2018. MiFID II is designed to make the European financial markets more transparent and to offer greater investor protection. To reach this objective, MiFID II sets out regulatory requirements on numerous areas including conduct of business and organisational requirements for investment firms, transaction reporting and pre- and post-trade transparency.
In order to comply with these new regulatory requirements, GBI has updated its agreements, revised respective policies and procedures and published disclosures on certain matters. The documents we published on our website for MiFID II compliance are available here.
